about

Live record from Halloween of 2004 at Ye Olde London Bridge Pub (now Burro Bar) in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. Tropic of Cancer was diverging into different territory and branching out into new sonic landscapes. Includes 3 Jay Peele pieces: "The Crossing" (Fiver's Stereo), "Mission Impeelesible", and "Mellow Gold" (later used on Acid Majik's debut album). Chris Spohn's "Bossa Nova #1" has Brian Hicks (R.I.P.) playing colorful flute lines ("Convene" features Spohn on bass and was also later used for Acid Majik). Jason Lewis picks up his nylon string guitar for "El Exiquiente", "Raga Waltz", and "Unbendable" as he and Colin Westcott (drums) drive the 8 piece t.o.c. band to the close of the gig. Chris Gibbs (making it 9 members) is lightly playing bass on the first few songs. Dimitri Kavalieros sat in on guitar. Mark George was playing percussion. Eric Riehm added an extra dimension with his tenor sax. Dimitri and Eric would become full time members of t.o.c. as Peele and Spohn morphed into Acid Majik. T.O.C. Halloween 2004 : The Night of The Lady.

about

Jay Peele Jacksonville, Florida

Born in the early 70's, Jay Peele played with tape recorders, record players, and drums in early childhood. A few piano lessons and playing trumpet in high school marching band along with a growing love of rock, metal, and jazz served to point Jay towards guitar and voice. 'Psychic Distance' by Inferno was released in Europe in the early '90s. Experimental and electronic albums abound. shatterwax ... more
